Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park was protected due the hundreds of thousands of animals that gather during the dry season from hundreds of kilometers around to drink in the isolated pools of the Tarangire River. Massive herds of elephant bully their way to the front of the queue to drink as buffalo, eland, and oryx bellow in protest.

The parks most striking feature are the massive ancient baobab trees which can be seen at every glance, sentinels of this amazing park which teems equally in the dry season as in the wet. Leopard, lion, and python are amongst the largest and most frequently seen predators and the many comfortable and idyllic camps and lodges allow travelers a great variety of choices and memories.

Tarangire is a place which can be visited again, and each time will never disappoint. Conveniently located near both Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire is a must on any itinerary in the northern circuit, anytime of year.

Black and White
The leopard is known for its ability in climbing, and it has been observed resting on tree branches during the day, dragging its kills up trees and hanging them there, and descending from trees headfirst.
